The original Grandma Nelson tree you all love, with my own Halloween twist! 🎃

This version has all the vintage charm of Grandma Nelson’s original, but with a spooky Halloween mix of sequins, beads, and trims. I am super proud of this mix, and I probably went a little overboard ordering all the different sequins I did!

There are a lot of little details in this one, so take your time and enjoy the process. This isn’t a quick project, but it is simple, forgiving, and straightforward. It’s one you sit with, work through, and make your own, adding your own touch to something special that you can bring out every Christmas for years to come.

And if you’re a beginner, don’t worry! The kit comes with video tutorials to help guide you through the whole process.

Grandma Nelson’s original tree was discovered many years ago at an estate sale, and she has since become my adopted grandma in spirit. I loved her original Christmas tree so much that eventually I had to see what it would look like dressed up for Halloween!

The finished tree stands about 14" tall and 12" wide and slips over a tall, long-neck quart-sized recycled bottle, like a small wine, sparkling water, soda, or similar bottle. It stores flat in the off-season and is easy to bring out year after year.

You’ll just need to supply your own bottle base and scissors.

Quick note: The sequin mix is always evolving as I discover new favorites, retire others as supplies change, and limit some of our harder-to-find sequins so we have enough to include them in every kit. Your mix may not be an exact match to the photo, but I promise it’s still just as full, varied, and thoughtfully chosen.

For our repeat Halloween Nelson makers: This year’s tree is a slightly darker pumpkin orange. You’ll only notice the difference if you have a Halloween tree from last year!
